American persimmons are one of the most attractive trees you can plant for wildlife. They are a native fruit tree that produce a golf ball sized fruit that is highly sought after by many animals. Deer absolutely love persimmons and will usually visit trees every day while dropping to mop up what has fallen that day. These tangy fruits are like candy for deer and many other kinds of wildlife. Does well in many different soil types, well drained, wet soils, sandy, clay, marginal areas, etc. As a wild tree they are easy to grow and very disease and pest resistant. Similar in taste to Apricot, adaptable to most soil types. Plant several for cross pollination.
