Bald cypress tolerate wet soil conditions well (as well as drier soils). They help to soak up excessive water and prevent erosion. They are classified as a deciduous conifer. Soft green needlelike leaves change to tan, cinnamon/orange colors in the fall before falling. Trees grow much like other evergreens, taller in height than width.
